Welcome to Egerton Primary
Through dynamic teaching, a highly creative curriculum and supportive environment, every Egerton child gains a passion for learning. When combined with the knowledge, skills and values they develop, we enable our children to fulfil their potential as global citizens in an ever-changing world.
At Egerton education is about every child experiencing the joy of discovery, solving problems, being confident and creative in communication, writing, the arts and technology, developing their self-esteem as learners and maturing socially and emotionally. A natural consequence of their journey is for the children to inspire and support their younger peers.
This school provides a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. It recognises that the children are global citizens and as such will work hard to deliver a strong global dimension to the curriculum to encourage respect for all. Our partnership with our sister school in Kenya serves as a strong characteristic of our school and provides for real learning experiences which will value diversity and strengthen the children’s identity with Egerton. We teach Spanish from Year 1 to Year 6 and this helps to enrich the children’s learning.
A real love of learning will be nurtured building on the strengths of every child, whilst introducing new skills to prepare them for an ever changing world. The children will be actively encouraged to take part in their learning and apply their skills in a range of contexts to develop a life-long love of learning and take responsibility for it.
GLOBAL LEARNING AT EGERTON - RECOGNISED NATIONALLY
This film has been jointly commissioned by Cheshire East and the National Global Learning Programme to higlight the importance of this approach.
Egerton was an expert centre for GLP and were involved in training 84 primary schools from 2013-17. This film captures the importance of training and embedding this approach as a golden thread throughout the curriculum and all aspects of school life. The film has been viewed at government level and is used nationally in supporting schools in engaging with this important work.
The Headteacher is a British Council Ambassador and Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching. She now leads a cluster of 41 schools with the Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning Programme funded by the British Council.
