Welcome to Egerton Primary

Our Vision

Through dynamic teaching, a highly creative curriculum and supportive environment, every Egerton child gains a passion for learning. When combined with the knowledge, skills and values they develop, we enable our children to fulfil their potential as global citizens in an ever-changing world.

At Egerton education is about every child experiencing the joy of discovery, solving problems, being confident and creative in communication, writing, the arts and  technology, developing their self-esteem as learners and maturing socially and emotionally. A natural consequence of their journey is for the children to inspire and support their younger peers.

This school provides a broad, balanced and rich curriculum. It recognises that the children are global citizens and as such will work hard to deliver a strong global dimension to the curriculum to encourage respect for all. Our partnership with our sister school in Kenya serves as a strong characteristic of our school and provides for real learning experiences which will value diversity and strengthen the children’s identity with Egerton. We teach Spanish from Year 1 to Year 6 and this helps to enrich the children’s learning. Our school is an Expert Centre for the National Global Learning Programme. We are responsible for training over 60 schools in effective practice in global learning.

A real love of learning will be nurtured building on the strengths of every child, whilst introducing new skills to prepare them for an ever changing world. The children will be actively encouraged to take part in their learning and apply their skills in a range of contexts to develop a life-long love of learning and take responsibility for it.

New School Spider App launch!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Our website provider School Spider has launched a fantastic new app that can be downloaded onto your smartphones/ipads /tablets etc. It is available for both Apple and Android devices.

The App will enable you to keep up to date with news, events and you will receive notifications from school direct to your device with immediate effect.

Simply go into your App store/Google play and download ‘School Spider’ which is free of charge, once downloaded you can choose Egerton Primary School from the menu, that’s it! Your login details will be sent to you via the email address we have on our records for you. Once you are logged on you will be able to access all the notifications direct to your device.

As you are aware, due to the proposed funding cuts, we have to explore and consider any opportunity to make savings and this app is one way that has been identified. The current system costs a significant amount each year and under the current economic climate cannot be sustained. The app will eventually replace the current Call Parent email and text service and also the Parents’ Evening booking system and questionnaires. For the moment you may still receive some texts from Call Parents but emails and notifications will all be via the app.

All the letters, newsletters and blogs can also always be found on our website.

We would appreciate your help in this matter by downloading the app and any feedback on how you think our website/app is working for you and also any areas for improvement.

Kind Regards

Alison Hooper
